The International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Association (IFALPA) will hold its annual conference in 2010 in Marrakech, south of Morocco, the Moroccan aeronautic service has reported.
Marrakech was competing to host the meeting of the IFALPA, which has more than 100,000 members across the world, with the Canadian city of Vancouver, according to a newsletter of the first aeronautic service of Morocco, handed to PANA Monday.
The Moroccan city won the overwhelming majority of the 60 voters that took part in the polls, at the last day of the 63rd annual meeting of the IFALPA held in April in Mexico.
IFALPA is an international organisation that groups more than 90 trade unions and line pilots’ associations of various countries.
Set up in 1948, its main objective is to secure flights and solve difficulties relating to international civil aviation.
